Guardian Class 2 Biological Safety Cabinets
The Class 2 Biological Safety Cabinet utilises a specially ventilated enclosure, developed for sterile material handling and sensitive processes where biological samples are applied requiring a safe work zone, providing protection for the user, sample and surrounding environment.
Independently type tested and approved to BSEN 12469:2000 by the UK’s leading authority on BioSafety Cabinets, the Health Protection Agency at Porton Down.
Biological Safety CabinetsGuaranteed Product, Personnel & Environmental Protection.
Our Class 2 Biological Safety Cabinets keep your team safe while handling potentially hazardous materials.
Manufactured to the highest quality standards, our state-of-the-art biosafety solution is equipped with H14 HEPA Filters to create an ISO Class 5 Clean Environment and features an intuitive control system, energy-efficient LED lighting, controlled airflow and UV sterilisation functionality.
Class II Microbiological Safety Cabinets utilise a flow of air drawn via the front aperture into the cabinet. This inward airflow (personnel protection) prevents aerosols generated during microbiological processes from escaping through the front opening.
A vertical downward HEPA-filtered laminar airflow (product protection) cascades unidirectionally from the front face of the cabinet creating an air curtain while continually flushing the enclosure of airborne particles and ensuring the working sample is protected from contamination. The contaminated air then makes its way into a HEPA-filter system (environmental protection) before it is safely exhausted from the enclosure.
Class 2 Biological Safety Cabinets are suitable for work with microbiological agents assigned to Biosafety Levels 1, 2 3 or 4.

Biosafety for Your Requirements
Class 2 Biological Safety Cabinets offer Three Levels of Protection.
Air Inflow protects the Operator, HEPA-filtered Downflow prevents cross contamination and protects the Sample andHEPA-filtered exhaust protects the Environment.
Type A2In a Recirculating Type A2 MSC air is drawn in through the front aperture, providing operator protection. The inflow air mixes with the downflow air as it enters the front intake grille and passes through the plenum where the air is split into exhaust systems.
|
Type C1A Type C1 MSC utilises the same airflow pattern as a Type A2. The addition of an Anti-Blowback Valve directs 30% Exhaust Air through an External Duct System. |
Carbon Exhaust SystemIf chemicals are used a Carbon Filtered Exhaust system may be installed after or as part of the Exhaust HEPA Filter, making a Type A2 Cabinet suitable for the handling of hazardous chemicals. |
