Product Description.

The SKAN pure² is a high-performance isolator designed for both aseptic and aseptic-toxic applications, ensuring maximum safety and productivity.

Its closed containment system offers secure handling, even when working with high-potency products. Featuring SKAN’s patented skanfog® technology, the pure² delivers fast and reliable H₂O₂ decontamination cycles.

A large, rapid airlock enhances throughput and overall isolator efficiency. Additionally, the integrated SKAN nanox® catalyst system eliminates the need for an external HVAC connection, offering greater flexibility and ease of integration.

Featuring a stainless steel working chamber and airlock, it offers a smooth, easy-to-clean surface that supports hygienic operation. The system allows for selectable positive or negative pressure modes and consistently maintains GMP cleanroom Class A and ISO 5 standards.

Equipped with a user-friendly control panel and 9″ colour touchscreen, it simplifies operation and monitoring. Electronic batch recording enhances traceability.

Solution

Our Class 2 Biological Safety Cabinets keep your team safe while handling potentially hazardous materials.

Independently type tested and approved to BS EN 12469 : 2000 by the UK’s leading authority on BioSafety Cabinets, the Health Protection Agency at Porton Down.

Manufactured to the highest quality standards, our state-of-the-art biosafety solution is equipped with H14 HEPA Filters to create an ISO Class 5 Clean Environment and features an intuitive control system, energy-efficient LED lighting, controlled airflow and UV sterilisation functionality.

Class 2 Biological Safety Cabinets are suitable for work with microbiological agents assigned to Biosafety Levels 1, 2, 3 or 4.

Operation

The Class 2 Biological Safety Cabinet utilises a combination of inflow and downflow air to create a sterile work environment. Air passes through HEPA filters before entering the work area, protecting samples and operators from airborne contaminants. Exhaust air is filtered again before release, maintaining a safe laboratory environment.

Type A2

In a Recirculating Type A2 MSC air is drawn in through the front aperture, providing operator protection. The inflow air mixes with the downflow air as it enters the front intake grille and passes through the plenum where the air is split into exhaust systems.

  • 70% of the air is recycled and pushed back into the Work Area through the downflow HEPA Filtration, providing product protection.
  • 30% is returned through the Exhaust Air HEPA Filter back into the laboratory environment.

Type C1

A Type C1 MSC utilises the same airflow pattern as a Type A2. The addition of an Anti-Blowback Valve directs 30% Exhaust Air through an External Duct System.

Carbon Exhaust System

If chemicals are used a Carbon Filtered Exhaust system may be installed after or as part of the Exhaust HEPA Filter, making a Type A2 Cabinet suitable for the handling of hazardous chemicals.

Applications

  • Microbiology: Handling of cultures and specimens.
  • Pharmaceutical Research: Safe manipulation of hazardous drugs.
  • Clinical Testing: Containment of infectious agents.
  • Biomedical Laboratories: Protection during cell culture work.
