Job Specification.

  • Monmouth Scientific is seeking a proactive Business Development Executive to expand our market presence across our clean air product range, cleanroom solutions, and service offerings.
  • The role focuses on generating high-quality leads, developing client relationships, and driving revenue growth in sectors spanning healthcare, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, and advanced manufacturing working alongside professionals from organisations such as the NHS, leading research laboratories, and global biotech innovators.
  • This role places you at the heart of cutting-edge environments, from state-of-the-art cleanrooms to high-spec laboratory facilities, while also offering opportunities to represent the company at major industry events in the UK and Overseas.

  • Identify, generate, and qualify new business leads for Monmouth Scientific’s clean air products, including fume cupboards, laminar flow cabinets, and containment solutions
  • Develop opportunities for cleanroom design, installation, and validation projects across key industries
  • Promote aftersales services including maintenance, servicing, and compliance testing
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients (NHS, laboratories, universities, pharma, and industrial sectors)
  • Conduct outbound prospecting (calls, emails, networking, events) to create a robust sales pipeline
  • Arrange and attend client meetings, site visits, and product demonstrations
  • Collaborate with technical and engineering teams to develop tailored solutions for clients
  • Track and manage leads through CRM systems to ensure effective follow-up and conversion
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities in clean air and controlled environments
  • A proactive self-starter with a strong “hunter” mentality
  • Confident, energetic, and comfortable starting conversations with new people
  • Naturally curious, someone who enjoys uncovering opportunities before they become projects
  • Resilient and motivated by targets, with a drive to succeed in a competitive environment
  • Comfortable spending time networking, attending events, and building relationships from scratch
  • Someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes ownership of their pipeline
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or lead generation (B2B preferred)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to understand technical products
  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently
  • Excellent organisational and pipeline management skills
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office
  • Experience in clean air technologies, cleanrooms, laboratory equipment, or healthcare environments
  • Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., ISO cleanroom standards, containment, or ventilation systems)
  • Experience working with NHS, pharmaceutical, or laboratory sectors
